hey, i’m imaad.
i work on applied ai research, building and improving machine learning systems across healthcare, finance, and agriculture. i’m currently an ai research engineer @STARlab Capital.
this is my home on the web. Starting in 2026, I’ll write about machine learning, research ideas, systems I build, and papers or concepts that make me think twice.
right now, I spend most of my time on:
- biomedical ai, including medical image segmentation and oncology-focused models
- making ml pipelines more efficient, scalable, and interpretable
- quant research
- exploring cognitive systems and how inductive biases (like physics or domain knowledge) can improve human–computer interaction
i like building by tweaking and extending existing architectures rather than treating models as black boxes. that’s pretty much how i think as a researcher.
