hey, i'm imaad.
i'm a researcher and developer in ai/ml. i've been studying the field since 2021, starting with my undergrad, and have since worked across personal projects, academic internships, and industry research on a wide range of ml problems.
currently, i'm a product & ai research engineer @STARlab Capital, where i lead ai and product strategy for the water-credits vertical Airrigate, from farmer data frameworks and automated water benefit accounting to recommender systems.
before this, i worked on biomedical ai with the vivistar team, building medical image segmentation and oncology-focused models from scratch and making them more efficient, scalable, and interpretable.
what i'm into
- vision + language: making machines understand images and text the way humans do.
- llm internals: currently exploring how modern llm inference and serving software work under the hood.
- side project: cross-modality medical image synthesis (mri ↔ ct).
- building end-to-end: i like owning projects from idea to deployment, especially ones that solve real problems.
- startups: i'm drawn to innovation, new ideas, entrepreneurship, and community, and I follow the startup ecosystem closely.
i like building by tweaking and extending existing architectures rather than treating models as black boxes. that's pretty much how i think as a researcher.
